Benefits Of Playing A Musical Instrument

Dear Parents,
We'd like to tell you more about our award-winning childrens show, the Zinghoppers.
Blending upbeat music, dynamic and playful lyrics, down-home comedy and humor, along with important educational elements designed for the audience's age group, our show is high energy fun!
Developed by innovative educators, and backed by decades of experience in the enterainment business our shows utilize the theory of "edutainment" - which typically seeks to instruct or socialize its audience by embedding lessons in some familiar form of entertainment. This technique has proven very effective in reaching elementary age children. In this case, our main "lesson" is that our actions have the power to positively influence others and the world around us.
We think it’s important that education be informative, fun, and entertaining. Therefore, we strive to appeal to children (ages 1-8) in a friendly, professional, and upbeat manner.
Music plays an important role in every child’s development. Beginning at birth, music stimulates the brain and provides a platform for listening, language and creativity. And, research shows that children who play an instrument excel academically, including scoring higher on standardized tests. Best of all, music is fun! We encourage children to learn more about instruments and try making music themselves - in fact, we often conduct "Instrument Petting Zoo" workshops at schools and daycares throughout the country.

The show has been created and developed to specifically appeal to preschool and early elementary age children. Our show focuses on themes and situations that will resonate with this specific audience in mind.
Our show features Conductor Jack on ukulele, banjo and guitar along with a friendly "animal band" (including a fiddle playing donkey named Olo, Penelope the bass playing possum and a guitar picking kangaroo named Coconuts) - they are like any group of young friends learning to develop positive relationships with each other. The show also reflects the importance of family/friends to preschoolers. While the animals in the band aren't necessarily related, they act very much like siblings and they love and care for each other. Expressive movement is both vital to and loved by preschoolers whether it be through dancing or role-playing. Our show includes these elements. Also, children love to laugh at funny visual situations. Our characters reflect this: they too love to laugh and there is a significant amount of humor in the show.
Entertaining children in an inspiring world where imagination will take them on amazing adventures, the Zinghoppers encourage kids to explore the world around them through music, movement and laughter - and they won’t even know they’re learning!
Thanks for your interest in our show!
